The latest assessment follows the framework agreement signed by Lebanon and Israel in Washington on June 26, which outlines steps aimed at restoring security in southern Lebanon. Under the arrangement, the Lebanese Armed Forces are expected to gradually regain control of the country’s southern territory, while the disarmament of Hezbollah forms a key component of the broader implementation process.
According to the framework, the rollout will begin in a designated pilot zone. The area is expected to serve as the first location where Israeli forces would withdraw, allowing Lebanese troops to assume security responsibilities before similar measures are expanded to other parts of the border region.
Despite the reported decline in military activity, security conditions remain fragile. Israeli military operations inside Lebanon have continued on an almost daily basis, although their frequency and intensity have recently shown signs of easing compared with previous weeks.
