State-owned lender PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has become Indonesia’s largest distributor of subsidized home financing under the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) program through the end of July 2026, according to the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP).

Housing and Settlement Areas Minister Maruarar Sirait said BTN continues to dominate the distribution of subsidized mortgages, reflecting its significant role in expanding access to affordable housing for low- and middle-income families across the country.

Ministry data show that as of July 29, 2026, BTN had financed 55,766 FLPP mortgage units, the highest figure among banks within the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara). The minister had previously highlighted BTN’s achievement during the Mass Signing Ceremony for 62,710 FLPP Prosperous Home Mortgages, attended by President Prabowo Subianto in Batang, Central Java.

Meanwhile, PT Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) recorded the distribution of 28,282 subsidized housing loans during the same period. Combined, BTN and BSN have financed 84,048 subsidized housing units throughout 2026.

BTN President Director Nixon L.P. Napitupulu emphasized that expanding subsidized mortgage financing requires strong collaboration among all stakeholders in the housing sector. According to him, the government, BP Tapera, banking institutions, and property developers must continue working together to ensure broader public access to decent and affordable housing.

President Prabowo Subianto also underscored the importance of housing as one of the most basic needs of Indonesian citizens. He encouraged stronger cooperation between the government, financial institutions, and the private sector to accelerate home ownership and improve housing affordability nationwide.

This year’s FLPP mass mortgage signing ceremony involved 62,710 borrowers from 372 regencies and cities across 36 provinces, making it the largest event of its kind since the program was introduced, according to BP Tapera.

BTN recorded the highest participation in the nationwide event, with 30,203 borrowers completing their mortgage agreements either in person or through online sessions from various regions of Indonesia.

The government expects the continued expansion of the FLPP program to strengthen the national housing sector while helping more Indonesians realize home ownership through affordable financing schemes.
