Citilink is expanding its domestic flight network by resuming services from Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java. Starting August 17, 2026, the airline will operate flights from Bandung to several major cities across Indonesia.
Citilink President Director Darsito Hendroseputro said the reopening of routes from Bandung is aimed at strengthening air connectivity while capturing travel demand to and from West Java. The move is also part of efforts to expand the Garuda Indonesia Group’s flight network.
Five cities have been added to the network: Medan, Denpasar, Surabaya, Palembang, and Balikpapan. Flights on the Bandung-Medan, Bandung-Denpasar, and Bandung-Surabaya routes, including return services, began operating on Monday.
Meanwhile, Bandung-Palembang and Bandung-Balikpapan flights will begin operating on August 18, 2026. All five routes will be served daily using Airbus A320 aircraft.
According to Darsito, the additional flight options from Bandung are expected to make travel easier for residents while supporting regional economic activity. Direct connections with major cities could facilitate travel for tourists, businesspeople, and residents traveling between different regions.
Citilink’s return to Husein Sastranegara Airport also provides residents of Bandung and surrounding areas with additional travel alternatives. Passengers will gain easier access not only to popular tourist destinations such as Bali but also to major business centers and other important cities.
Citilink said the network expansion was developed based on public demand for more convenient and efficient travel options. The airline also emphasized its commitment to maintaining safety, security, and punctuality standards across its flight operations.
Through the expansion, Citilink expects connectivity between Bandung and other parts of Indonesia to become stronger. The strengthened network is also expected to support government efforts to improve regional accessibility while contributing to tourism and economic growth in West Java and destination regions.
