KPK Re-examines Former Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo as a Witness in the Hajj Quota Case - RakyatPost.co

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has re-examined the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, as a witness in the investigation into alleged corruption regarding the determination of the Hajj quota and the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage. The examination was conducted at the KPK’s Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026), to delve deeper into information regarding the additional Hajj quota received by Indonesia from the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Dito arrived at the KPK office around 10:05 AM WIB. Speaking to the media, he confirmed that his attendance was a follow-up to the investigators’ summons as a witness in the case. He also emphasized that he did not bring any specific documents when fulfilling the examination summons.

Previously, Dito had also been questioned by investigators in January 2026. At that time, the KPK delved into his knowledge regarding the process of adding approximately 20,000 Hajj quotas granted by the Saudi Arabian Government to Indonesia in 2022. Dito is known to have accompanied the government delegation during a visit to Saudi Arabia when the discussions regarding the additional quota took place.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo previously explained that the examination of Dito was conducted because investigators deemed that he possessed relevant information regarding the decision-making process related to the additional quota. The statements from witnesses are considered crucial to complete the evidence in the case, which has now entered the investigation stage.

In the development of this case, the KPK has named four individuals as suspects. All suspects have undergone the detention process, while investigators continue to develop the case by examining a number of witnesses from government elements, Hajj pilgrimage travel organizers, to private parties suspected of knowing about the distribution process of the additional quota.

The KPK emphasized that the investigation will continue comprehensively to uncover alleged irregularities in the management of the Hajj quota. The examination of Dito Ariotedjo is part of the efforts to clarify the chronology, the decision-making mechanisms, as well as the parties suspected of playing a role in the case. Investigators also open the possibility of summoning other witnesses if new facts are uncovered during the ongoing investigation process.
