InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has launched a hospitality training program for residents of tourism villages in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, as part of preparations for the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at the Mandalika Circuit.
The initiative aims to improve service quality and strengthen the capabilities of local tourism workers ahead of one of Indonesia’s largest international sporting events.
Speaking at the opening of the program in Bilebante Green Tourism Village, ITDC General Manager Pari Wijaya said the training reflects the company’s commitment to developing high-quality human resources in the tourism sector.
According to him, the program forms part of the Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 series while preparing local communities to welcome domestic and international visitors with professional hospitality standards.
The training curriculum covers several key areas, including customer service, effective communication, tourism awareness, and delivering genuine hospitality that enhances visitors’ overall travel experience.
ITDC said the program is designed not only to improve individual skills but also to foster a service-oriented culture across tourism villages surrounding the Mandalika Special Economic Zone.
By strengthening hospitality standards, organizers expect local communities to become more competitive as tourism destinations while creating memorable experiences that encourage visitors to return.
The initiative also reflects broader efforts to ensure that the economic benefits of the MotoGP event extend beyond the racing circuit by involving nearby villages and local businesses in the tourism ecosystem.
